From the studio...baby owl

Completion by Kate Daniel
Completion, a photo by Kate Daniel on Flickr.
I finally finished one of my paintings that I started in the How to Paint an Owl class that I mentioned I was taking. The colours are a little intense in this shot because I took it on my phone...but I decided to just "let it go" & not be perfectionist Kate by retaking the picture. Proud of me? :) Wow, does it ever feel good to complete something. Two more to come...

I am a Light Hunter

I am a Light Hunter.  And a gatherer of sorts.

I am foraging for rays, scooping up flares,

and diving into the shadows.

And I continue to hunt all month long.
What a feast I will have!

A Love Affair

I've been having a love affair with my next door neighbour's apple tree.  I never really paid much attention to her until he said that he was going to trim her this summer so that she didn't hang over the fence into our yard.  I must catch him before he does...as she is perfect just the way she is.
Even if she is a little nosey & always peeking into our business over here.

Seattle: iPhone Style

So this little thing we call an iPhone is proving to be a valuable tool.
More and more I find myself opting to take the lightweight option...and sometimes the weather doesn't permit lugging around my "real" camera & all the lenses.  Yep, 2 weeks ago Seattle saw my phone many times...

and remember more than I have seen.  ~Benjamin Disraeli

Banff x-country ski day

Note to self:  If a certain friend (who is supposed to be injured & awaiting knee surgery!) says that she just wants to go for a "gentle" ski...maybe skip the morning spinning class - because it ain't just gonna be a leisurely stroll in the woods!  But beautiful it was...  :)  And so are T's car shots!
